Where to Stay in Eugene Oregon: 7 Top Hotels You'll Love (2024)

Eugene, Oregon, boasts a diverse selection of accommodations, catering to various preferences and budgets. Whether you’re visiting for a Ducks game, exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, or attending a conference, I’ve got 7 popular hotels I think you’re really going to like.

In this article, I will cover the top hotel options in downtown Eugene, close to the University of Oregon and near Autzen Stadium. I have included all the boutique hotel options I could find when I visited, plus a few others for different tastes and budgets.

Regarding where to stay in this college town, it’s not a huge city, so whilst I have covered it by area, feel free to choose the hotel that most appeals to you and then sort out your Eugene plans from there.

Downtown Eugene Hotels

In my opinion, downtown Eugene is the best place to stay when visiting town. The reason for this is that it is the heart of the city with loads of restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment options all in easy walking distance. Personally, I like being able to walk to dinner from my hotel after a long day and staying downtown is the easiest way to achieve this goal.

Here are some of the best hotels in downtown Eugene:

1. The Gordon

🌟Rating: 9.8/10 IClass:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I🏩View on Expedia.com

Immerse yourself in the artful ambiance atThe Gordon Hotel, which boasts a central location in Eugene’s market district. You’re steps away from artisanal markets and local breweries. The Gordon is a genuine boutique hotel with a large stylish lobby and lots of art.

The lobby/reception area feels like a cool co-working space. It’s a great area to hang out and there are games if you’re in the mood.

There are four types of standard rooms and three suites. All have king size beds, italian linens, Oregon coffee and tea, coffee maker, complimentary wifi and work stations. The design aesthetic is Scandanavian smattered with some bright local art.

If you prefer a quaint and historic stay,Campbell House Innextends a warm invite with its elegant Victorian charm. It’s situated near Skinner Bute Park (which has some great fairly short walking paths), ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat. It has a fantastic location just a short walk from downtown but it feels more like you’re staying in a forest due to its location.

Built in 1892, the house was restored as a historic boutique hotel. There are 21 rooms in total across two properties. The main house has 13 rooms, and the nearby Carriage House has 8 suites (this is where I stayed when I visited).

This is our 2nd stay at Inn on 5th; we returned because we enjoyed it so much the previous time. We liked our room better this time because with 2 queen beds there was more space, the bathroom had a better layout and we had a small balcony. The staff are exceptional and the location is ideal with great restaurants and shops within walking distance.

University of Oregon Vicinity

For prospective students, visiting families, or alumni, finding a place near the University of Oregon can provide easy access to campus events. The area is also home to Hayward Field, Hendricks Park, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History, Matthew Knight Arena and Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.

If you’re a runner, this is a great area to stay in as this is kind of where Nike was born (Phil Knight attended the University of Oregon). Plus, there are lots of options for running tracks like Hendricks Park. Hayward Field can sometimes be open to visitors who want to go for a run, but do check, as this is only if there are no events taking place.

5. Timbers Inn
