FAQ
The QVR surveillance server currently supports MJPEG, H.264, H.264+, H.265, H.265+, MxPEG video formats.
It depends on the video format and the quantity of cameras. For example, for a camera with 1920x1080 resolution 15FPS bit rate 2Mbps, it takes about 40GB for a video of one day. Use the QNAP QVR Selector to calculate the capacity required.
As Windows does not have a HEVC decoder, it cannot play footage on QVR Pro Client from H.265 streaming camera. This does not affect macOS as it has a built-in HEVC decoder.
Under the Access Control mode, QVR Face is able to recognize 5 faces at the same time.
Under the Attendance Mode, QVR Face can only recognize 1 face at the same time.
Cameras used for people-flow counting or facial recognition should be mounted 2 to 3 meters above ground at 15-30 degrees.
Cameras used for attendance should be mounted 1.5 meters above the ground at 0 degrees.
