Our Story
The idea for Secretlab sprang from a simple reason. Our founders Ian and Alaric had become frustrated by their neverending search for a gaming chair that they were satisfied with. So they decided to develop their own. They had big ambitions — to change the gaming chair industry with a seat that brought together gorgeous aesthetics with only the finest materials.
Dozens of prototypes were developed in the run-up to the Secretlab Classics, our award-winning best-seller that went on to become the chair of choice of the world’s premier esports tournaments and championship-winning teams. Driven by an unrelenting obsession with detail and passion for creating stellar user experiences, we’ve since become known for the fanatical attention that goes into every one of our products.
Research-Backed Design
Over the years, we’ve consulted with multiple engineers, material scientists, and UX specialists in different fields to help refine our designs. In our design lab and testing facilities, Secretlab engineers work with cutting-edge materials and novel prototypes to develop new, radical ideas. To bring to life our latest design innovations, we’ve had to tap into more advanced and precise manufacturing technologies, made possible by economies of scale.

Secretlab Founded
Ian and Alaric first met while they were both playing StarCraft II semi-professionally. The duo started Secretlab to create a gaming chair that would be the unequivocal best on the market.

Secretlab THRONE V1
The first Secretlab THRONE is launched. The first 200 units sell out within a week, and the company breaks even within a month.

Secretlab OMEGA THRONE V2
Barely seven months later, the new Secretlab OMEGA and THRONE V2 roll out. In a market saturated with aggressive, gaudy gaming seats, the OMEGA redefined the landscape with its clean lines and tasteful design.

Making a difference
The COVID-19 pandemic has touched all of us. In the middle of all this, healthcare workers were out on the frontlines every day, putting themselves at risk so the rest of us could stay safe. To help address the shortage of personal protective equipment like masks, we rallied our partners in esports and gaming, including Riot Games, Valve, Cloud9, G2 Esports, Team Secret and OG, to donate a total of 400,000 FDA-approved masks to hospitals in the US, UK, and Singapore.
In celebration of all the good that the gaming community can do, we supported streamers working to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at GuardianCon. While seated in Secretlab chairs, streamers marshalled a record-breaking $4 million in total, with DrLupo as the anchor and other fan-favorite streamers like Tfue in attendance.
More wish children than ever have had their lifelong wishes put on hold due to COVID-19. Together with Make-A-Wish®, we wanted to give wish children and their families something to continue to look forward to. To that end, we teamed up with esports powerhouse Team Liquid on a 24-hour CHAIR-ity stream, where donations and part of the proceeds from Team Liquid Edition chair sales went toward wish children.
